Many times people have asked me for a spell that will allow them to "make" someone love them. This, of course, involves using spellwork or magick to "manipulate" a fellow human being as the person is not aware of this taking place and nor has any consent been given.
We have to focus on the Basic Tenant of "Harm None" as expressed in The Rede. When we think along those lines, we then see that it is not proper to use any type of Love Magick that would manipulate another on such a level. The outcome is never good from what I have seen in the past and from others have shared with me.
As with any spellwork you need to ask yourself, "What is my intent?" and "Is this spellwork fueled by such things as anger, hatred, lust, greed, jealousy and/or envy?" If your intent encompasses any of those qualities, then you must not move ahead with such magick.
However, it is fine to do spellwork to bring love into your life. In other words, say you are alone and needing a mate and company within your life. Then do a "general" type of spell/magick that is a request that "love" come into your life in that manner. At this point you are not focusing on a specific being such as Mary or Joe, but anyone that the Gods/Goddesses deem may be appropriate for you and compatible with you.
This article basically deals with guidelines for those who follow the path of Wicca, however, it can certainly be applied to all Paths as Karma is present in all paths.
